Storage questions, answered straight

Call or text and tell us roughly what you’re storing. We’ll tell you what’s open, what size fits, and what it costs. Most rentals get set up the same day, because there’s nobody to get approval from.

No long-term contract. Units rent month to month, so you can keep a unit for a single season between moves or for years. We ask for reasonable notice before you move out so we can re-rent the space.

You sign a short lease when you rent. It is month to month, and it says plainly that damage to the unit while it is rented to you — the door, the walls, the floor, the container, the ground around it — is yours to cover. That is the normal arrangement at any storage yard, and we would rather you read it on our pricing page before you sign than discover it when you move out. Keeping your own insurance on what is inside the unit is a separate and good idea, because our lease does not cover your belongings.

Call and we’ll tell you what’s open today. We don’t publish live availability, because a list like that goes stale the moment someone rents and then somebody drives out here for a unit that’s already gone. Units turn over all the time, so it’s worth calling even if we were full the last time you asked.

As a rough guide: a 10 × 12 holds a one-bedroom apartment, an 8 × 20 container holds a one to two bedroom home, a 12 × 22 takes a car with room around it, a 12 × 30 fits a boat on its trailer or a three bedroom home, and the 14 × 30 with its 11 × 14 door takes a motorhome. Watch the door as closely as the floor. A tall camper needs the 12 ft or 14 ft opening, and no amount of floor space makes up for a 10 ft one. If you’re stuck between two sizes, call and describe what you have.

Yes, and it’s a big part of what we do. It all goes fully enclosed, out of the snow and out of the summer sun. A boat on its trailer usually fits the 12 × 30. Taller rigs want the 12 × 32 or the 12 × 36, both with 12 ft doors. Motorhomes go in the 14 × 30, whose door is 11 ft wide by 14 ft tall. These are the first units to fill up every fall, so call early.

No. We don’t have temperature controlled units of any kind. What our units are is dry, weather-tight and out of the wind, which covers furniture, equipment, vehicles, tools and most household goods. Something truly temperature sensitive, like certain electronics, instruments or old photographs, is better off somewhere else, and we’d sooner tell you that now than after a winter.

No fuel, propane, fireworks, ammunition, chemicals, or anything else flammable or explosive. No perishable food, no living things, and nothing illegal. If you’re unsure about a particular item, ask.

We’re in Paris, Idaho, in the middle of Bear Lake Valley, just off the highway. That puts us roughly ten minutes from Montpelier, five from Bloomington, and about twenty from Garden City, Utah.

Yes. We rent to customers throughout Bear Lake Valley on both sides of the state line, including Garden City, Laketown, and Randolph in Utah. Utah-side customers usually come to us because lakefront storage books out in season and costs what lakefront costs.

The main yard is in Paris, and we keep overflow space elsewhere in the valley. If one spot is full we can usually put you in another, so call and we’ll tell you what’s open and where.
